On May 31, the large-scale fire fighting/water rescue amphibious aircraft "Kunlong" AG600 full state new configuration fire extinguisher independently developed by the aviation industry made its first flight in Zhuhai, Guangdong. The first flight was held on site with video. In the engineering verification stage, the AG600 technology demonstrator has successively achieved its first flight on land, on water and at sea, key performance test flight and water pumping and fire extinguishing function test flight, breaking through and mastering key technologies such as aerodynamic integration layout, high wave resistance and seaworthy hull, and complex high strut landing gear, laying a solid and reliable technical foundation for project development. In the practical application stage, it is mainly to carry out the research and development of new configuration fire extinguishers and rescue aircraft in full state and airworthiness certification.
The AG600 full state new configuration fire extinguisher for the first flight has a maximum takeoff weight of 60 tons and a maximum water carrying capacity of 12 tons, filling the gap of domestic large aviation fire fighters. This type of aircraft is equipped with a pressurized cabin, adopts fly by wire flight control and integrated avionics, and is equipped with a full mission system. Compared with the technical verification aircraft, it has higher safety, greater water input, longer range, and better platform serialization development capability.
The research and development team overcame the adverse effects of the epidemic situation and the difficulties in scientific research and production, and worked together to ensure the completion of various research and development tasks.
Under the guidance and assistance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Civil Aviation Administration of China and other national ministries and commissions, and with the strong support and collaboration of relevant enterprises, universities and research institutions inside and outside the industry, such as AVIC and CETC, this aircraft is based on the domestic industrial chain, supply chain and innovation chain, achieving 100% domestic independent support, including engines, key airborne systems, a large number of new technologies, new materials The new process has been applied, effectively driving the rapid development and quality improvement of related industries, showing a prominent exemplary driving role. The aviation industry will take the construction of domestic aviation emergency rescue equipment system led by AG600 as its own responsibility, accelerate the promotion of model development and market-oriented application, actively carry out research on fire fighting and rescue use mode, and promote the pilot construction of emergency rescue command center and demonstration operation base. It is planned to have the ability to carry out fire fighting tasks and put them into practical application in 2023. In 2024, the fire extinguisher will obtain the CAAC airworthiness certificate and be delivered to users, In 2025, the rescue aircraft will obtain the CAAC airworthiness certificate and be delivered to users.
